Christmas Morning Sausage Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground sweet Italian sausage
  • 1 box Red Lobster brand cheddar biscuit mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Pepperjack are our family’s favorites)

Kitchen tools:

  • Mixing bowl and spoon
  • Cookie sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Meat thermometer

Instructions:

  • Lay down parchment paper on the cookie sheet. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix all ingredients together, including the seasoning packet that comes in the biscuit mix.
  • Scoop large tablespoon size portions of the mixture and roll each one into a smooth ball, placing on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the meat thermometer reads 160 degrees. Let cool for just a few minutes and then enjoy while they’re still warm. If you have any leftovers (you probably won’t), store for up to 3 days in an airtight food storage container in the fridge.

We recommend using a meat thermometer to ensure you bake the sausage balls until they’re thoroughly cooked without drying them out.

Christmas Morning Mimosas

It doesn’t get easier – or fancier! – than this! Enjoy the little bit of elegance a mimosa offers.

Christmas recipes

Standard Mimosa Ingredients:

  • ½ cup chilled champagne
  • ½ cup chilled orange juice

Equal parts of champagne and orange juice…that’s it! It really couldn’t be easier. This recipe makes two servings, so divide between glasses. If you feel a little extra fancy, consider one of these variations:

  • Add ¼ cup of pineapple, cranberry, or pomegranate juice (increase the champagne by ¼ cup, too).
  • Add 1 Tablespoon of Grand Marnier to each finished mimosa, stirring lightly to mix.
